Community Guidelines
ucracy is a place to understand bills and votes, and to talk about them with other members and with the people who represent you. These guidelines say how to take part. They go with our Terms of Service and the Content Policy. ucracy is run by Ucracy Inc., a Delaware corporation.
Be civic, not personal
Engage with policy — bills, officials, and topics — not with other members as personalities. You can follow other members, officials and boards, and any signed-in member can see who you follow and who follows you.
Make your case
When you vote on a bill, you may add a short reason, up to 280 characters. Make it substantive: “this raises healthcare costs” beats “this is bad”. Your vote and your reason show on your profile, where other members can see them.
Disagree without harassing
Personal attacks, threats, harassment, doxxing, and incitement are prohibited. Block, mute, or report members who break the rules. Blocking or muting someone hides what they post from you.
Real people only
Don’t impersonate other people, officials, or groups. Don’t run bots. Keep one personal account, and don’t fake or coordinate votes, answers, co-signs or totals.
Tell the truth about yourself
Answer the citizen question truthfully, or leave it unanswered, and give your real address: they decide where your answers and votes count.
When something looks wrong
Use “Ask for a correction” beside a reading or a question to tell us what looks wrong and what it should say. Use “Report” beside a post, a comment or a member that breaks these guidelines or the Content Policy.
